Day 6 – Climbing the dunes

Thanks to a hearty breakfast, we were ready to climb the largest sanddune in the western Gobi which stands at an impressive 400m tall. The climb was well worth it, as we could enjoy an incredible view across the surroundings.

Following this exhausting exercises we regained our strength drinking camel milk at a local families’ ger. Here, we learned more about their lifestyle and how to play the Mongolian guitar “tovshuur”.

In the afternoon we enjoyed some free time, mainly spent recovering from the morning activity and hiding from the sun and the heat.

In the evening we climbed another dune to enjoy a lovely sunset.
