Day 5 – From the streams and valleys to the sand dunes

Our first stop today after a bit of driving was the Yolyn Am gorge. It is a narrow gorge with a small stream which can develop into a dangerous river with enough rainwater.
Walking along the gorge we saw Ibexes, various birds of prey and small rodents. After having finished the walk and paid a visit to the small local museum, we started the drive to the sanddunes of Khongoryn Els.

In the camp we enjoyed a stunning sunset which made the large dunes look even more impressive.
