On our seventh day, we left the sand dunes and headed to the flaming cliffs.
On our way to the flaming cliffs we drove further through the Gobi, seeing geckos and gazelles.

The flaming cliffs are a famous archaeological site known for dinosaur bones and eggs that were found here.

The northern part of the silk road which is called the tea road also passed through this area. It went from Zamiin-Uud at the Chinese boarder all the way to Altanbulag on the Russian border, spanning 1.150 km. It relied heavily on massive camel caravans to transport brick tea across the Gobi and the steppes.

The flaming cliffs received their name from the sunsets, which make them look like they are on fire, unfortunately this was not really visible when we watched. The night at this remote place was really calm and quiet.
