Day 4 – Long drive ahead

The night was quiet and the cows and goats, on their way out to the pastures, gently woke us up in the morning. After breakfast, the long drive to Yolyn Am started.

The landscape slowly changed from steppe to gravel desert and we started seeing more and more camels. For lunch, we stopped at a small restaurant and had the local speciality, Mongolian fried noodles.

On our way, we visited Dalanzadgad and its Gobi museum of nature with a few dinosaur skeletons discovered in the area.

At the ger camp, which was beautifully situated next to a gorge, we played the traditional game of shagai to pass the time.
Shagai is played with sheep or goat ankle bones and the one who collects the most bones wins. After a few rounds, we were ready for our ger and enjoyed another peaceful night.
